Is there anything as red as the red of a poppy? I don’t think so. Here are some of my favourite poppy images from years past. Springtime in Spain is a splash of vivid colour, a welcome touch of alegría.

Lovely work, Mike. Thanks.
Wow! What beautiful pictures. They exude “alegria”. A couple of years ago I was standing in a field just like one of these overwhelmed by the panorama in front of me and thinking how beautiful this now ailing world is. Thank you for Infusing an emotional antidote to this pandemic.
Love these images! Can they be purchased? If so, pls provide details1

Wonderful. I wanted to walk right into that first picture!
Beautiful photos Mike! Really enjoying your website and podcasts! Fantastic!
Thanks Nina! Very happy you’ve enjoyed it. More to come soon!
Wow, these are stunning. I am so envious. I miss the wildflowers of CA. The wildflowers of Spain look absolutely amazing! Beautiful pictures, Mike, as always.
This site is really making me want to live in Spain, BTW! I can only assume you started this site as a way to encourage/jedi mind trick us into moving to Spain!
Thanks. Hope it’s working!
What month would be ideal to witness the poppies in bloom in the southern regions (around Merida/Caceres)?
I would say April to early May.
