Calle Alcala and the start of the Gran Via, on a cold winter’s night in Madrid. The same evening I took this image, I took this one a little earlier, while waiting for dusk. It stumped quite a few people. I wasn’t sure anybody would get it, and they might not have without the hints I left in the comments! Both were taken from the observation deck of the Palacio de Correos in the heart of the city. Photo ©Mike Randolph
I love to see the work of a patient photographer, Mike. This is a terrific photograph, really makes us want to be there.
Que vida! Great shot that captures the energy of Madrid!
Beautiful picture! What is the clock tower on the upper right?
Thanks Mike, thanks Beth. julvic, the building in the upper right with the iconic red clock is the Telefonica building. When it was built, in 1929, it was Europe’s tallest building. For more information, check out http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Telefonica_Building
I was the delighted winner of the competition, and am very pleased with my photo of the Segovia viaduct! Thanks Mike, always love to see your work!
You are so welcome, Sarita. Glad you like it!
